Doug Fern
Doug moved to Nanaimo from Cold Lake Alberta in 1966. He married Shirley and raised two children (Jason and Chelsea) in Nanaimo where he and his wife currently reside. Doug entered the private security business 14 years ago and joined the Nanaimo airport in 1997 as a security contractor. For the past seven and half years Doug has worked as the “safety/security officer” and more recently as “safety/security manager”. Doug enjoys the Nanaimo airport where each day is filled with something new and unique which has made this a rewarding place to work. Doug would like to thank the Airport Commission for the opportunity that he has been given & special thanks will always go to Curtis Grad (Airport Manager in 1997) for hiring Doug.
