Smith, Chair of the Nanaimo Airport Commission, is pleased to announce
the appointment of Michael Hooper to the position of President &
CEO.
Mr. Hooper holds an undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University and a Masters in Business Administration from Royal Roads. He has an impressive record of business achievement in land management positions with several international corporations over 28 years.
A long term resident of Central Vancouver Island, Hooper is very familiar with the opportunities, challenges, and priorities that characterize the region. In addition, Hooper has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Commission, representing the Regional District of Cowichan.
“The Commission received over 40 applications for the position. After an intensive selection process, the Board of Directors was completely confident that Mike has the strategic leadership, planning, and management skills necessary to move the airport forward”, said Brian Smith.
