Safety Management System
Transport Canada is initiating a new Safety Management System (SMS) across the nation. This system will help all airports improve safety through pro-active management rather than reactive compliance to regulations. The Nanaimo Airport Team has begun to initiate this new process as a tool that will ensure we maintain and enhance a high safety record. We will continue to grow a culture focused on safety for the traveling public, clients, staff, contractors, tenants and all parties interacting with the Airport.
