Mike was born and raised on Vancouver Island – he has lived in the Ladysmith Area since the early 1960’s , where he and his wife Kathy have raised three daughters, and are now enjoying the adventures of three grandchildren.
Mike has an under-graduate degree from Simon Fraser University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Royal Roads University in Victoria.
Mike worked in land management positions in the forest industry for 26 years – followed by 2 years as a business consultant. He has been a member of numerous Boards; including the Chamber of Commerce, Nanaimo Airport Commission, CVRD Park Commission, the BC Forest Museum, BC Aviation Council, Airports Association of BC, and many others.
Mike accepted the appointment of airport President and CEO in May, 2006. During the past 10 years the NAC team has completed a number of improvements at the Nanaimo Airport and they are now working to further increase services at YCD to meet the needs of the surrounding communities and continue as an economic engine for the region
