Nanaimo Airport is the gateway to your dream destination, regardless if it’s across the country or around the world, YCD has the air service to get you there. Although technically Nanaimo has non-stop services to Vancouver and Calgary, the reality is through those two airports there are connections to more than 254 destinations worldwide.
Imagine access to all those destinations only minutes from your home. No ferry line ups, no long road trips, no overnights in Vancouver. Just easy, reliable and affordable air service to take you where you want to go.
“Thanks to regional residents support through the summer, our passenger numbers are soaring,” explains Mike Hooper, Nanaimo Airport President and CEO. “Summer is traditionally a busy time at YCD, but this year in July and August we have seen a 34% growth in passenger numbers each month. Certainly WestJet’s new service is stimulating the market, but Air Canada is seeing excellent growth as well.”
As the season changes to fall, travellers’ thoughts turn to sun destination. There are plenty of options to escape winter right from YCD.
Air Canada Vacations will once again offer connector flights from Nanaimo to Vancouver to join up with their schedule charter flights to Mexico including Ixtapa, Los Cabos, Mexico City, and Puerto Vallarta, plus Hawaii including Honolulu.
And for the first time, WestJet Vacations will begin servicing Nanaimo with connections from Calgary to sun spots including Mexico – Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Ixtapa, Cancun, and Cozumel, plus several Caribbean destinations.
Not to mention all the other great connections both carriers offer through their regular schedules, to popular golf destinations such as Palm Springs, Phoenix, and Scottsdale.
